Ibrahim Dincer is a full professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of Ontario and visiting professor at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Yildiz Technical University. Renowned for his pioneering works in the area of sustainable energy technologies he has authored/co-authored numerous books and book chapters, and many refereed journal and conference papers. Yunus Çengel is Professor Emeritus at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA and the founding dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Adnan Menderes University in Aydin, Turkey. He received his Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in USA. Before joining ADU in 2012, he held the position of the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Yildiz Technical University YTU and as Advisor to President at Scientific and Technological Research Council TUBITAK on international cooperations. Professor Cengel served as the assistant director and director of the Industrial Assessment Center at UNR for eight years. He also served as the advisor to several government organizations and private companies on energy efficiency, energy policies, and education reform. Professor Çengel is the author or coauthor of the widely adopted textbooks Thermodynamics: An Engineering Approach, Fundamentals of Thermal-Fluid Sciences, Heat and Mass Transfer: Fundamentals and Applications, Fluid Mechanics: Fundamentals and Applications, Differential Equations for Scientists and Engineers, Fundamentals and Applications of Renewable Energy, and Energy Efficiency and Management for Engineers, all published by McGraw-Hill. Some of his textbooks have been translated into Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Italian, Greek, and French. Dr. Çengel has delivered several keynote and invited lectures at technical conferences and academic institutions. Enrico Sciubba (born Roma 1949, M.Eng. Roma 1972, Ph.D. Rutgers, NJ 1981) is Professor of Turbomachinery & Energy Systems in the Dept. of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering of the University of Roma 1 “La Sapienza”. He has held industrial positions in Europe and taught Thermal Sciences in the US and Europe. He holds two honorary Doctoral Degrees, from the U. of Galati and from Ovidius University (Romania). His currently active research topics are the exergy analysis of complex systems; the CFD-aided optimization of energy-conversion components; the design and prototyping of ultra-micro gas-turbines for hybrid vehicles and as portable power generators, and the application of AI techniques to turbomachinery design. He has authored or co-authored 4 books (2 in english) and over 200 scientific papers. Professor Sciubba is an ASME Fellow and a member of several international Engineering Societies. Eric Dimla received the MEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1994 from University College London and PhD immediately after that on ‘Tool condition monitoring using neural networks in metal turning operations’ awarded in June 1998. Prof Dimla is former Head of School of Science and Technology, RMIT University Vietnam until April 2020. Prior to joining RMIT Vietnam, he was Dean and Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Brunei from March 2015 to February 2018. Preceding joining UTB, he was Academic Leader (Engineering) at Southampton Solent University UK and a Senior Lecturer at Portsmouth University, UK. His research interest is within the area of metal cutting tool-wear and condition monitoring/fault diagnosis, intelligent sensor fusion and signal processing for industrial applications. Hasan Heperkan, graduated from Ankara Science High School in 1970, from Istanbul Technical University, Mechanical Engineering Faculty in 1974. Won Fullbright and TÜBİTAK scholarships to study in the USA. Recieved his M.Sc. degree from Syracuse University in 1976 and Ph. D. from University of California, Berkeley in 1980. Worked at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories and Union Carbide Research Center after graduation. Served as a guest professor at Universitaet Karlsruhe (TH) with support from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany for three years (1981-1984). Returned to Turkey and worked at TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center, Bosch and Demirdöküm in the Research Department before becoming a full professor at Yıldız Technical University in 1997. He has served as the Dean in the Mechanical Engineering Faculty. Has published more than 150 papers, books and conference articles and speaks fluent English and German. Huseyin R. Hiziroglu graduated from Gazi University with a B.S, Middle East Technical University with a M.S and Wayne State University with a Ph.D all in electrical engineering. He joined Kettering University in 1982. Since then, he has been on the faculty of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and was promoted to the rank of Professor in 1991. He has four years of industrial experience in Transformer Manufacturing Division of Turkish Electricity Authority. His ongoing experimental and theoretical research is focused on the study of electrical properties of polymeric dielectrics to predict the aging. He was also responsible for modeling and integrating Power Electronic Circuits with Fuel Cells and Solar Cells as part of a Renewable Energy Resources Program at Kettering University. His scholarly activities have been funded by such industrial companies as General Motors, 100K Ideas etc. and such government agencies as National Science Foundation etc. Professor Hiziroglu is a co-author of a book entitled, “Electric Machinery and Transformers”, 3rd edition 2001, by Oxford University Press, and another book entitled, “Electromagnetic Field Theory Fundamentals”, 2nd edition 2009, by Cambridge University Press. These two books have been translated into Spanish, Korean and Chinese by Oxford University Press as well as by Cambridge University Press. Khamis Essa is Reader in Advanced Manufacturing and Process Modelling. He is the Deputy Head of the Advanced Manufacturing Centre at the School of Engineering, the University of Birmingham. Dr Essa holds PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham (2011), BSc and MSc degrees from the University of Alexandria, in Production Engineering. Octavio Garcia Valladares studied mechanical-electrical engineering in the College of Engineering at UNAM (National Autonomous University of México), obtaining honorable mention in his title in 1995; he studied his master and doctorate’s degrees at the Technical University of Catalonia, Spain, obtaining cum laude doctoral degree in Thermal Engineering in 2000. He starts working at the Energy Research Centre (now Renewable Energy Institute) in September 2000 and currently is a Senior Researcher type "C"; he is level II in the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI) and he is the coordinator of the solar drying and solar water heating systems laboratories. Salim Hiziroglu has Ph.D. degree in Wood Products from Michigan State University, MS degree in Wood Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and BS degree in Forest Products Engineering from Karadeniz Technical University in Turkey. Currently, Dr. Hiziroglu is Professor in the Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management (NREM) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) where he teaches courses in the area of forest products.
